Financial institutions face mounting pressure from increasingly convincing deepfakes and AI-enabled fraud schemes. World, the identity verification network, is responding with a purpose-built solution unveiled at Money20/20 on Sunday. The offering bundles the company's identity wallet, a newly available Zoom integration, and verification tools for artificial intelligence agents—marking the first time World has tailored its World ID platform to serve a specific industry vertical.
The launch arrives as AI-driven fraud accelerates across the sector. Deloitte projects U.S. losses could balloon from $12.3 billion in 2023 to $40 billion by 2027. For banking and asset management firms, the stakes of a single compromised video call or fraudulent customer request extend beyond reputational damage—these interactions routinely involve sensitive financial data and can trigger immediate trades or fund transfers.
Real-time verification for video and agents
The most immediate application targets video conferencing. World ID for Zoom enables meeting participants to cryptographically verify that they are communicating with a genuine person rather than a deepfake. Now in general availability, the integration is positioned for enterprise deployment. Tools for Humanity, the company building the underlying technology, has joined Zoom's ISV exchange program, paving the way for wider organizational adoption. World plans to showcase the system at Zoomtopia, Zoom's annual user conference, shortly following the Money20/20 debut.
A second component tackles a rapidly emerging challenge: AI agents acting on behalf of customers. As artificial intelligence systems increasingly submit requests and interact with financial platforms on customer behalf, institutions require assurance about who authorized these agents and what the authorizing person has verified. World ID for Agents allows individuals to establish Proofs about themselves and transfer those Proofs to an agent, which can then present them to banks or other third-party systems.
The World ID app serves as the central identity wallet, enabling users to claim, manage, and present their Proofs across various digital services.
As AI becomes increasingly prevalent in all aspects of our lives, enterprises are requesting individuals provide 'Proofs' about themselves to help mitigate fraud and increase trust. World ID for banking and finance offers a suite of tools to add an AI-safe trust layer across their internal and external systems.

Industry partners and cryptographic foundation
Bain Capital, VanEck Funds, OpenExchange, and Outtake are collaborating as design partners, testing how the technology addresses financial services requirements. World emphasizes that its verification system relies on quantum-secure cryptography, a technical choice intended to preserve the integrity of Proofs as computational power advances.
The financial services initiative reflects World's expanding enterprise strategy. Beyond Zoomtopia, the company will activate at Cloudflare Connect as it works to introduce its verification technology to large-scale organizations.
World, founded by Sam Altman, Max Novendstern, and Alex Blania, pursues the goal of establishing the world's largest network of verified humans online. The platform currently reports more than 18 million individuals holding a Proof of Human.
