Enzo Ventures, operating from Barcelona, has wrapped up its second fundraising round at €20 million, concentrating on pre-seed investments in Southern European founders. The fund has already deployed capital into three startups, including London-based Cori Clinical and ventures based in Madrid and Zurich.
The new vehicle builds on the approach established in 2023 with Fund I, a €10 million predecessor that similarly targeted Southern European founders and diaspora entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of company formation. Fund II applies the same thesis but with greater resources and an expanded support infrastructure.
Enzo characterizes diaspora entrepreneurs as founders who relocate from hubs such as Barcelona and Lisbon to establish operations in cities like London and Paris, while preserving strong connections to the talent ecosystems and startup communities they originated from. The firm positions itself to discover these founders before they attract attention from the broader venture capital market.
Check sizes from Fund II range between €250,000 and €600,000. The firm's existing portfolio includes Orbio and Murphy, both of which Enzo reports are currently generating millions of euros in annual revenue.
Enzo was established by Edgar Vicente and Iván Fernández Lucas, both with entrepreneurial backgrounds. Vicente was only 23 years old when he co-founded the firm. The pair created Enzo to fill what they identified as a void in Southern Europe: early-stage funding that combines founder-friendly terms, global ambitions, and willingness to accept pre-launch risk. They observed that many regional venture firms operated with excessive caution.
When we started investing in 2023, our conviction was that something structural was changing in Southern Europe. The new generation of founders coming out of the region was more ambitious, more technical and much more global from day one. We didn't want to build a fund around where companies were incorporated. We wanted to build one around where exceptional founders came from.
