Industrial cybersecurity startup Indurex has closed a €7 million funding round to accelerate development of its artificial intelligence-driven security solution for critical infrastructure, manufacturing operations and connected industrial systems. Contrarian Ventures led the investment, joined by Axeleo Capital and Curiosity as co-investors.

The capital injection will fuel Indurex's push into new markets across Europe and the Middle East, where operators increasingly grapple with security vulnerabilities stemming from the convergence of information technology and operational technology. The company serves clients in oil and gas, energy generation, utilities, manufacturing and data centre sectors.

Engineering intelligence as a security layer

Indurex addresses a critical blind spot in industrial cybersecurity: while conventional tools monitor network traffic, they often lack visibility into the engineering configurations and safety systems that determine whether operations remain within safe parameters. The company's SafeGuard AI platform merges engineering data with security intelligence to close this gap.

The system draws together signals from industrial control systems, safety infrastructure, operational metrics and IT security platforms to construct a comprehensive picture of industrial environments. Machine learning agents within the platform spot anomalies, detect engineering deviations and flag potential threats, then recommend corrective actions for safety, security and incident management. The platform additionally automates compliance reporting against cybersecurity and functional safety standards.

Cyber defenses in these critical sectors have focused solely on the network. We focus on the core industrial data itself: the engineering, process and safety signals that determine whether a plant is operating within safe limits. Cybersecurity and operational excellence have too often been managed as separate disciplines — Engineering Intelligence is the missing layer, and this funding allows us to bring that capability to more operators across critical infrastructure,

Market expansion strategy

Indurex's existing customer base spans mid-sized energy and manufacturing operations alongside large global corporations. The company is also pursuing utilities and data centre operators as target segments.

The fresh funding will support product development and commercial team growth. Indurex intends to prioritize market penetration in Europe and the Middle East initially, with subsequent expansion into North America and Asia-Pacific regions.
