Verso, a platform that uses artificial intelligence to surface consumer intelligence for business decision-making, has closed a $6 million seed round. Angular Ventures led the investment, joined by 100in, Kima Ventures, Olympe Capital, Sharpstone Capital, and several business angels, with backing from startup studio Hexa.

The capital will fuel Verso's geographic expansion beyond its home market of France, accelerate product development of its consumer intelligence layer, establish integrations with additional data sources, and enable AI agents to access the platform's insights.

Consumer research remains a critical but cumbersome function at large enterprises. Organisations spend substantially on understanding their audiences, yet insights often get trapped within dedicated research teams rather than flowing to the broader business. Verso was founded by Lydia Bellahouel and Camille Epitalon to solve this bottleneck.

The platform orchestrates the entire research workflow: from designing studies and recruiting participants through to conducting AI-moderated video interviews and synthesising findings. Interviews adjust dynamically as they unfold, and the system builds a searchable knowledge base from thousands of hours of recorded conversations that teams can query whenever new strategic questions emerge.

Rather than delivering a static research report after each project concludes, Verso constructs evolving consumer personas that grow richer with each new research initiative. This approach lets organisations compare different consumer groups and monitor shifts in sentiment and behaviour across time.

Verso claims its platform delivers insights roughly ten times faster and at a quarter of the expense compared with traditional research agencies, while engaging approximately 15 times more respondents. The platform counts more than 30 companies among its users, including Ferrero, Orange and Michelin.

Bellahouel described the genesis of Verso:

At BCG, I saw large groups miss out on hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue each year because they couldn't access usable consumer insights when making decisions. We're building the consumer knowledge layer that fixes that: accessible to business teams today and to the AI agents in their workflows tomorrow, so companies can act on what consumers actually think and be market leaders.

Lydia Bellahouel, Verso co-founder

Verso currently anchors its offering on qualitative interviews, but the roadmap includes expanding the consumer intelligence layer to encompass quantitative research data, social listening signals and additional information streams. The platform is architected to surface this intelligence both to human decision-makers and, through dedicated interfaces, to AI agents performing preliminary analysis within established business processes.

The company intends to deploy the seed funding toward connecting additional consumer data sources, building out AI agent capabilities, and pushing into new markets including the United States. Verso also plans to expand its team in engineering and commercial roles.
