Klang, a Swedish artificial intelligence startup, has closed a €1.32 million funding round (SEK 15 million) that values the company at €13.2 million (SEK 150 million). The investment was led by entrepreneur and tech investor Johan Lenander, alongside Emil Sjödin, founder of Refined, and Daniel Gaff, co-founder of Position Green, with participation from existing shareholders.

The company builds technology capable of transcribing, summarising and analysing spoken conversations in real time. Klang is developing proprietary speech and language models designed to make conversation data searchable and actionable across organisations. The startup's longer-term ambition centres on creating what it describes as a complete, searchable memory of conversations—one that captures not just words spoken, but also context, nuance, dialect variations and the connections between different discussions.

Klang currently generates SEK 20 million in annual recurring revenue. The fresh capital will accelerate research and product development, support geographic expansion, and enable the hiring of approximately ten employees across research, engineering and marketing functions. The company intends to maintain a lean, capital-efficient structure while scaling operations.

Geographic priorities for the coming period include the Nordic countries, Benelux, the DACH region and Japan. This year, Klang has concentrated resources on building its own speech and language models optimised for real-time conversation processing, alongside developing technology infrastructure that can be deployed rapidly across new markets.

In a world where AI performs more and more tasks, human conversation becomes an increasingly important source of information. At the same time, today's technology for understanding conversations is still limited. Our vision is that what is said should never be lost. We want to create a perfect memory of every conversation – a memory that not only remembers what was said, but also understands the conversation as well as, or even better than, the people in the room.

Niklas Silfverström, CEO, Klang

AI is changing not only the product we build but also how we build the company. A small, technically strong team can today achieve what used to require a much larger organisation. Now we above all want to pick up the pace in research, product development and distribution.
