Munich-based artificial intelligence startup Marble Cognition has announced a $3.75 million pre-seed funding round, co-led by venture firms Heartcore and Seedcamp. The round also drew backing from prominent angel investors, including a Datadog board member, a Personio founder, and senior figures from McKinsey, Mistral AI and Lovable.
Marble was established in late 2025 by Felix Rösner and Christophe Schmit. The company has built technology that enables organisations to identify, map and automate their internal workflows through artificial intelligence.
The challenge Marble targets is straightforward yet pervasive: while AI could theoretically handle roughly 57 per cent of working hours in the US according to McKinsey analysis, most business processes remain invisible to automation systems. Marble's own research indicates that approximately 90 per cent of core processes at the companies it engages with lack formal documentation, with critical knowledge locked away in emails, spreadsheets and individual employees' heads.
Marble's approach involves observing how staff members execute their daily responsibilities, then translating these workflows into machine-readable process maps. Using this foundation, the platform generates what it calls Marble Coworkers—AI agents capable of executing business processes using existing organisational tools, with humans retained in the loop for decisions and approvals.
The platform deploys a desktop application that tracks activity across business software, capturing screen interactions, mouse clicks and keyboard input. Marble states that all collected information undergoes anonymisation before employee or AI model access, and analysis happens at an aggregate rather than individual level. The application skips private applications, private browser sessions and out-of-hours activity, and workers retain the ability to disable monitoring whenever they choose.
Every company we talk to wants AI to take over real work. But nobody can tell the AI how that work is actually done. So we solve that first. Our Coworkers watch how the work happens before they take it over. They do it the way your best people do
Felix Rösner, co-founder of Marble
Marble has already deployed its technology across multiple organisations, including EGYM, Mutares and Enam, alongside various technology firms and private equity portfolio companies.
The fresh capital will go toward strengthening Marble's inference infrastructure, growing its engineering workforce in Munich and preparing for entry into the United States market.
