Lisbon-based defencetech firm TEKEVER has unveiled intentions to set up its inaugural Nordic foothold in Odense, Denmark, marking a strategic expansion across the region. The move comes after leadership met with Denmark's Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus in Copenhagen.

The Portuguese company specialises in building artificial intelligence-powered autonomous systems serving defence, security and civilian sectors. Its Danish venture will tap into Odense's established strengths in unmanned systems and robotics while investigating possibilities for monitoring vital infrastructure in the energy sector.

Joining the venture is EIFO, Denmark's Export and Investment Fund, which is participating in the completion of TEKEVER's $580 million Series D round. The financing was initially disclosed on 23 September 2026 at a $6.4 billion valuation.

TEKEVER is working through the establishment of a Danish legal entity and preparing its local infrastructure. Growth of the operational footprint will unfold incrementally, contingent on market demand and regulatory clearances.

Why Odense

The company selected Odense for its mature ecosystem around unmanned aircraft and robotic technologies. The city hosts several key institutions and organisations:

These facilities grant TEKEVER entry to Danish testing infrastructure, research capabilities, specialist firms and skilled personnel.

Strategic Vision

Establishing our first operational presence in Denmark gives TEKEVER a platform to work with customers and partners across the region. EIFO's investment as part of our new Series D closing is an important milestone. Support from Odense Municipality and our progress with local partners are concrete steps in our Danish expansion. We will develop our operational presence in phases, in response to demand and approvals. Denmark's strengths in drone testing, robotics and research create a strong foundation for collaboration. Over time, we aim to contribute to Danish sovereign industrial and technological capabilities and the wider Nordic region.

TEKEVER

TEKEVER is already engaged with Danish partners and sees room for cooperation spanning defence, security and technology domains. The firm intends to explore with local stakeholders how its adaptable systems might be deployed for safeguarding critical offshore energy installations.

With this investment, EIFO is supporting s continued growth while bringing a leading European defence company closer to Denmark. Building on its existing ties to the Danish ecosystem, this creates potential for increased collaboration, technology development and greater Danish industrial participation in the European defence sector.

Broader European Footprint

The Danish operations represent one node in TEKEVER's expanding European infrastructure network. The company maintains presences across Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Estonia, with a recently opened hub in Munich adding to its German operations.

The $580 million capital infusion will fuel TEKEVER's subsequent growth phase, encompassing wider geographic reach, strengthened industrial and technological resources, and targeted acquisitions.
