Blackwall, a cybersecurity firm headquartered in Tallinn, has secured $100 million through a Series C funding round spearheaded by AVP. Existing backers including Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures and Tera Ventures also participated in the round, which values the company at $2.2 billion. The capital will fuel Blackwall's push into 12 key markets spanning North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, alongside the creation of new security capabilities designed to handle evolving web traffic patterns, particularly those generated by AI agents.
The company operates a platform that manages and secures web traffic for hosting providers, cloud infrastructure operators and managed service providers. Its technology identifies legitimate visitors and automated systems while blocking malicious bots and cyberattacks. The platform encompasses bot mitigation, DDoS protection, web application firewalls, load balancing and server-side encryption.
The web is becoming more automated, more distributed and more complex, but the infrastructure that powers it remains highly fragmented. Our ambition is to build the traffic management ecosystem that brings those worlds together. This funding allows us to expand globally, deepen our platform and give hosting and infrastructure providers the technology they need to participate in the next generation of the web.
Nikita Rozenberg, Co-Founder and CEO of Blackwall
Blackwall's strategy differs from typical security vendors: rather than selling directly to website operators, the company partners with hosting, cloud and managed service providers. These intermediaries integrate Blackwall's technology into their own systems and rebrand the security features for their customers. This approach enables providers to offer protection and traffic management without building the underlying infrastructure themselves. The filtering of unwanted requests also reduces operational costs, while Blackwall's modular design lets partners package security services according to their own commercial strategies.
The company processes billions of requests daily by positioning itself within hosting providers' infrastructure, allowing it to intercept and filter harmful traffic before it reaches customer servers. Its toolkit addresses bot detection, DDoS mitigation, web application security and the management of traffic originating from AI agents—a growing concern as automated systems increasingly interact with online services.
Blackwall has built something rare: a security company that grows with the internet itself. It is already the layer in front of millions of websites, and as more of the web's traffic comes from agents, the company in that position becomes indispensable. That's why we're leading this round.
Warda Shaheen, General Partner at AVP
A tsunami of agents will overwhelm infrastructure optimised for human traffic. Nik and Denis are already delivering to their millions of customers the infrastructure optimised for the coming agentic web, and commercial success will flow to those businesses that are retooling today.
Norman Fiore, General Partner at Dawn Capital
We've backed Blackwall from its early days and have seen the business scale into critical infrastructure for the web. As AI changes how traffic moves across the internet, Blackwall's position at the front door of millions of websites has never been more important.
Mina Samaan, General Partner, MMC Ventures
The funding round reflects growing industry recognition that infrastructure providers must adapt as AI agents become more prevalent on the web. Websites and hosting platforms increasingly struggle to distinguish legitimate automated activity from malicious traffic, a challenge that Blackwall's positioning and technology are designed to address.
