Capital flowing into European technology companies climbed steeply during September, totalling €15.8 billion spread across 300 transactions. This marked a substantial jump from August's €3.2 billion and 165 deals, representing a month-on-month increase of nearly 394 per cent in funding value and approximately 82 per cent growth in deal count.

The United Kingdom dominated the funding landscape, capturing €7.3 billion—roughly 46 per cent of all European investment that month. Meanwhile, cloud infrastructure claimed the top position among sectors by funding volume at €5.5 billion, displacing artificial intelligence from its leading position in August.

Merger and acquisition activity held relatively steady, with 39 exit transactions recorded compared to 37 the previous month.

Cate Lawrence, Senior Journalist at Tech.eu, reflected on the September landscape: "September's figures paint a picture of an ecosystem attracting substantial capital, but one where a handful of outsized rounds can dramatically shift the monthly totals. The contrast between funding value and deal activity offers a more nuanced view of where investment momentum is building."

The 10 largest transactions completed during September accounted for 70.8 per cent of the month's overall funding volume.
