ID Finance, operating from Barcelona, has announced a €545 million financing package in the form of debt and equity. The capital injection supports the company's ambition to establish Plazo, its consumer fintech application, as Spain's dominant credit offering.
The company kept the breakdown between equity and debt components confidential. Backing the round were international investors Spice Expeditions, WashU, Kingsway Capital and the global investment firm i80 Group.
The fresh capital will fuel expansion of Plazo's feature set. The application bundles payment functionality, shopping incentives and short-term credit options into one platform. ID Finance has also moved into the buy-now-pay-later space as it pursues its goal of becoming Spain's premier consumer credit destination.
According to ID Finance, this round ranks among the largest funding achievements for a Spanish fintech in recent memory.
This investment is a strong vote of confidence in Plazo and in the model we've built to modernise consumer credit in Spain. Plazo tripled its portfolio in 2025 and reached profitability, proving that responsible, AI-driven underwriting and a genuinely better product experience can scale together.
